The divided brain

As you probably know, Potential2Achieve are great fans of PRISM Brain Mapping and the metaphor of the 4 quadrants of the brain, the preferences that we have for using the 4 quadrants and the behaviours that we associate with the preferences. We are also very interested in understanding more about how we use our brains to receive, process information and learn.

In this video clip from the RSA, renowned psychiatrist and writer Iain McGilchrist talks about how the ‘divided brain’ has profoundly altered human behaviour, culture and society. The insights relating to ‘attention’, ’simplified reality’ and the difference in right and left brain focus are fascinating.

When you have a spare half hour, have a look – the first few minutes are a little slow but then you get into it and it really makes you think!.
